Sierra Leone Senior Officers’ Training Program
1996 - 1998
Between 1996 and 1998, AAI administered the Sierra Leone Senior Officers’ Training Program in conjunction with the United Nations Office for Project Services. AAI arranged university placements in the U. S. and the U.K. for 16 senior officers of the former military government of Sierra Leone as part of an effort to ensure the democratic transition to a freely-elected civilian government. AAI activities included administration, participant counseling, and monitoring participants’ academic enrollment and progress.
