Nigeria NGO Training Project

1999 – 2001

Between 1999 and 2001, AAI administered the Nigeria NGO Training Project, a two-year program funded by the Ford Foundation, which provided training to junior and middle managers of non-governmental organizations to build leadership skills in Nigeria. The Nigeria NGO Training Project responded to the needs of leading NGOs in the fields of reproductive health and women’s empowerment and particularly in the areas of intervention research, impact evaluation, project planning and management, NGO management, policy advocacy, documentation and communications, and fundraising/endowment building. Sixteen participants from NGOs throughout the country participated in a training program that was tailored each participant’s specific objectives.
