Maternal and Child Health/Family Planning II Project, Rwanda
1991 – 1994
Between 1991 and 1994, AAI administered the Maternal Child Health/Family Planning II Project in collaboration with Management Sciences for Health. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the project expanded and improved the delivery of population and family planning information and services in Rwanda in the public and private sector. AAI provided placement and support services for 20 Rwandans completing master’s in public health programs and short-term training programs in the United States and Africa. Through its training programs and outreach, the project strengthened the capacity of the National Population Office, a government agency responsible for population policy, education and research in Rwanda.
