African Training Program (ATP)

1964 – 1969

 

Between 1964 and 1969, AAI administered the African Training Program (ATP), which provided training to nationals of Francophone Africa. Funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), over 1,755 individuals from 14 French-speaking African countries participated in over 100 different training programs. Under ATP, over 1,100 participants studied in the United States and 655 participants studied at institutions in Africa.
