African Higher Education and Training (AHET)
AAI's African Higher Education and Training (AHET) programs help build human capacity in Africa by facilitating higher education, professional training, and skills-building courses in critical fields such as agriculture, education, public health, natural resource management, business, and public administration. For over 50 years, AAI's AHET programs have provided opportunities and administered programs that have enabled over 23,000 individuals, from over 50 African countries, to pursue advanced degrees and technical training.
Through its AHET programs the Africa-America Institute works with partners from the academic, private and public sectors to:
- Administer programs which enable African students to pursue bachelor’s, advanced degrees (e.g., Masters, and Ph.D.) to U.S., African and other universities throughout the world.
- Provide customized training modules, workshops and short courses for Africans to enhance professional development, capacity-building and leadership skills on the continent.
