AGOA III: Securing the Future
Senior congressional and senatorial staff, who drafted the AGOA III bill and were intricately involved in negotiations to ensure its passage in the House, provided members of the Africa Diplomatic Corps and Africa-related NGOs with the opportunity to hear first-hand about the AGOA. Speakers included Malik Chaka, Majority Staff Director, House Sub-committee on Africa; Jayme White, Legislative Assistant, Congressman James McDermott; and Viji Rangaswami, Trade Counsel, Democratic Staff, House Committee on Ways and Means.
