Reception for H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba, President of Namibia
AAI, the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), and the Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) co-sponsored a dinner discussion with H.E. Hifikepunye Pohamba, President of Namibia and private investors. President Pohamba outlined Namibia's aggressive economic strategy to attract trade and investment in this southern African nation and to strengthen commercial ties with the United States. He highlighted important new commercial opportunities, investor incentives and outlined Namibia's strategy&mdashto support further development of the mining industry to explore oil and natural gas deposits; to bolster agricultural and fisheries production; to increase economic growth in sectors such as eco-tourism and transportation; and to promote trade and investment between the U.S. and Namibia.
