1st Annual African Day

In collaboration with the Africa Group and Consuls General of eight African countries, AAI held the 1st Annual Africa Day event at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. The event included a panel discussion with Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Gadio, Minister of Foreign Affairs from Senegal, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, Minister of Foreign Affairs from South Africa and Ambassador Dawlat Hassan, Minister of Foreign Affairs from Egypt on the future of the African Union. This discussion was followed by a talk by H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, President of Nigeria and Chairman of the African Union. The event was featured in a global broadcast on AIT TV.
