Dr. Ablade Glover, a native of Ghana, is a scholar, teacher, and noted painter whose work has been exhibited widely throughout the world. Dr. Glover has had an extensive academic career studying art and education at the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana from 1957 to 1958, the Central School of Art and Design in London from 1959 to 1962 and the University of Newcastle-on-Tyne in Newcastle from 1964 to 1965. In 1972, Dr. Glover earned a master's in art education from Kent State University in the United States under the AAI-administered African Graduate Fellowship Program (AGRAD). He went on to earn a Ph.D. from Ohio State University in the United States in 1974.

In 1965, Dr. Glover became an Associate Professor in the Department of Art education at the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi Ghana. Dr. Glover worked at the University until 1994, where he served as Head of the Department of Art Education and Dean of the College of Art during his 29 year tenure. He retired from the University in 1994 to paint full-time. He is the Founder and Executive Director of the Artists Alliance Gallery in Accra, Ghana, which has been a significant contribution to the development of contemporary Art in Africa.

In 1992, he was awarded the Distinguished AFGRAD Alumni Award by AAI. In 1998, he was awarded the FLAGSTAR Award by the Arts Critics and Reviewers Association of Ghana (ACRAG). He is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Art in London. He is married with seven children.

Dr. Glover has a unique and instantly recognizable style, working in oils on canvas and concentrating on marketscapes and townscapes. His works have been collected and exhibited extensively in both public and private collections around the globe. These include: The National Gallery of Art in Zimbabwe; The National Gallery of Modern Art in Nigeria; Gallery Pluriels in Cote d'Ivoire; The Commonwealth Institute, Africa Center and the October Gallery in London; Hotel Mami Yoko in Sierra Leone; The VIZ Art Gallery and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) offices in Geneva, Switzerland; The World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C., The United States; French Cultural Center in Benin; O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois, The United States; IFA Gallery in Germany; UNESCO Head Office in Paris, France; The Royal Collection of Prince and Princess Takamado of Japan; and the Ghana Embassy, Harlem Studio Museum and AAI headquarters in New York City in the United States.
